Fourteen countries started in the Nations Cup in Lummen and after the first round Belgium and Canada were in the lead. Several counties chose not to start the second round to spare the horses for Sundays Grand Prix, so in the second round there were nine teams left.
Italy was the only team that did a better second round than the first round by finishing the second round with zero penalties. And with only 8 faults in the first round they ended on top! The Italian team consisted of Juan Carlos Garcia with Bonzai van de Warand, Francesca Capponi with Stallone, Luca Marziani with Wivina and Natale Chiaudani with Almero.
Belgium and Canada, who both were in the lead after the first round, finished shared second with eight faults in the second round. Forth place went to three teams - Germany, Mexico and Spain - with a total of 16 penalties after the both rounds.
