The Federación Hípíca Espanola (Spanish equestrian federation) announced that Prestige, the KWPN gelding of Spanish dressage rider Jordi Domingo passed away yesterday unexpectedly due to a neurological disease. The reason for the sudden death is still unknown, so that the results of a postmortem examination have to be awaited.
Prestige was born in the Netherlands in 1997 and belonged to the Spanish equipe during the European championships in Rotterdam last August. The gelding also participated at the European championships in Windsor and Torino as well as the Olympic Games in Beijing. Prestige was already preselected for the Olympic Games in London.
