Steve Guerdat and Jalisca Solier are unbeatable

Jun 16, 2012

Steve Guerdat and his faithful partner Jalisca Solier (Alligator Fontaine) took home the 1.50 class in Cannes. The class had 36 riders lined up to compete for the win, and as it was a speed class it was always going to be a race for the top spots. Philipper Rozier and Jadis de Toscane (Quidam de Revel) put pressure on the rest to go as the first to enter the ring and posted a clear and fast round, which in the end was good enough for fourth.

Christian Ahlmann did everything right though, and as seventh to go he took over the lead. A fast and accurate round on Lorena 111 (Larenco) paid off, and the two crossed the finish line in 56.96 seconds. Roger-Yves Bost did his best in the chase for the victory, and could have made it had not the last pole fallen to the ground. Laura Kraut had a great round on the very well jumping Belmont (Ahorn) and crossed the finish line on 57.72 seconds – eventually good enough for third.

With only a few left to go, it was Steve’s turn. He set his longtime partner Jalisca Solier in top gear – and rode a fluent and very fast round on the French 15 year old mare who jumped at her best today. Steve shaved off time as well and with a time of 56.30 he could record a win in the warm summer evening under the floodlights in Cannes.
