Harrie Smolders wins in Rotterdam

Harrie Smolders with Regina Z (Rex Z x Savoy Hanover) won the 1,55 m class in Rotterdam. Twelve riders made it to the jump-off in "Radobank Championship of Rotterdam Prix" and Harrie was the best of them all.

Ramzy Al Duhami with Bayard van de Villa Theresia was first to go and did a good round. Next out were Lisen Fredricson and her wonderful Matrix (by Cardento) and also this couple ended on four faults. Scott Brash was the first one to clear the jump-off with Intertoy Z (by Intradel) and took over the lead. Paul Estermann, who has been very strong at this show, unfortunately had the first fence down.

Denis Lynch gave his all and All Star (by Argentinus) jumped really well, but nr 5 - the big oxer after the short right turn fell to the ground. Nicola Philippaerts did a very nice round with Vadetta vh Mettenhof (by Oramé) and took over the second place.

Next to go was Carsten-Otto Nagel with Cazaro (by Chambertin). He cleared the course but lost some time in the turn between the fourth and fifth fence and went in on third position. Then it was time for Harrie Smolders with Regina Z (by Rex). He had a great speedy flow from the beginning to the end and did an excellent turn between fence four and five which put him in into the lead.

Ludger Beerbaum with Chaman (by Baloubet du Rouet) did his best to beat the time from Harrie. He made one stride less both between the second fence and the combination as well as between the last two fences, but he still didn´t catch the leading time.

Ludo Philippaerts with Kassini Jac (by Cassini) really wanted to win and also made one stride less between the two last fences, and it was enough for him to take over the fourth position. Patrice Delaveau started off really fast but after having the second fence down he slowed off a bit. Still he got a great time - 38.42 seconds - with Ornella Mail (by Lando).

Rodrigo Pessoa with Winsom (by Celano) was last to go. Even though Rodrigo made one more stride than most riders in the short right turn between fence four and five he was speedy enough to take the second place.
