Italian victory in the four star Norway Grand Prix

Jun 25, 2012

In Drammen it was an Italian victory in the four star Norway Grand Prix presented by Oxer with Juan Carlos Garcia on top. Garcia rode the 11 year old gelding Bonzai van de Warande (Nonstop), and the two had one of the three double clear rounds in the class. The Italian rider’s time was by far the fastest though; at 39.92 second, Garcia had 1.51 seconds down to runner-up Rutherford Latham from Spain on Nectar du Plessis (Carnute). The home crowds also got something to cheer for as Morten Djupvik ended third on Valle Blanc (Indoctro). Morten might even have taken at least second place had he not thought he took down the last fence and therefore "stopped" to look back before he had crossed the finish line. The Grand Prix brought a bit more excitement than yesterday’s Nations Cup, with more challenges and less clears – followed by a fast jump-off.
