No Olympic Games for Jeroen Dubbeldam

Jun 25, 2012

According to Stall de Sjiem's Twitter account Jeroen Dubbeldam has decided there will be no Olympic Games for him in London. The decision to give up his spot on the Dutch long list for the Olympics comes after a disappointing weekend in Rotterdam where Jeroen and his horse BMC Utascha SFN have not been able to make things work. Jeroen only got Utascha in October last year and the combination has not had long time to try and find their ways before the Olympics. Dubbeldam already has an Olympic gold medal though. In 2000 he won the Olympic Games in Sidney riding De Sjiem.

The final Dutch team for London will hopefully be know within short time. After the last shows Rob Ehrens does not have an easy job as many riders have proven to be in good form, but who will be able to keep up the good form towards the games in London? Marc Houtzager most definitely put in a strong application after his win in Rotterdam today. Gerco Schröder has been good and also has great horses to chose from, and it seems like Harrie Smolders is back in business as well. The final decisions keep getting closer and we are all looking forward to find out the final Olympic candidates.
