Rivetti revs up to win the big speed class

Jun 30, 2012

Cassio Rivetti blazed a trail in the big speed class of the night winning the Prix Massimo Dutti at the Global Champions Tour in Monaco.

Rivetti, riding in the Ukranian colours, delivered an impressive win on the bay stallion Bockmann’s Lazio in the two-phase competition in the floodlit arena at the Monte-Carlo yacht harbour. The 1m50 class was divided into two phases. Riders had to work their way to go clear through the first part of the course, then the clock was set to zero for the fast second phase. If they had any faults in the first part, it was added to their final score. Rivetti jumped clear in both phases and finished in 24.52 with Britain’s Scott Brash coming in second on 24.83 on Bon Ami. American rider Laura Kraut was third on 25.37 riding Teirra and Michael Whitaker for Great Britain was fourth on Viking in 25.62.
