Jul 8, 2012

Three Germans in the winners' circle in the Freestyle in Aachen. The Dressage Committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee immediately announced the riders that will be nominated to the German Olympic Sports Association for the Olympic Games in London. It will be Helen Langehanenberg riding stallion Damon Hill NRW, Dorothee Schneider riding her mare Diva Royal and Kristina Sprehe riding stallion Desperados. A fresh and new young team this time, with new faces and horses. Annabel Balkenhol from will be competing with Dablino in London as individual rider.
The Dressage Committee also nominated Isabell Werth with El Santo or Don Johnson as reserve pair. However Isabell Werth professionally informed them immediately that she will not take that position. "A reserve horse should have a lot of experience and routine because if one of the horses should be withdrawn a quick reaction is necessary. My horses lack the experience for this at the moment", Isabell said.
Hence Monica Theodorescu takes over the position as reserve with her horse Whisper.
