Olivier Robert and the Irish mare Belle Rock took home the Falsterbo Derbyafter a fantastic jump-off. The derby course consists off 19 fences and 23 obstacles. 24 riders and horses tried to go clear around the hard and long course but only two pairs made it - the winner and Captain David O´Brien with Mo Chroi (by Cruising).
O´Brien was first to go in the jump-off and he cleared the course and got a fast time, but when Robert crossed the finish line he had managed to shave off 2,5 seconds on O'Brien's time.
Ireland dominated with both horses and riders amongst the top three combinations. All three horses were Irish bred, and there even were two Irish riders among top three as Dermott Lennon and Loughview Lou Lou (by Limmerick) were fastest of the three combinations on four faults.
Fourth place went to Leon Thijssen with Dahlia Z (by Dutch Capitol) and in fifth place was secured by a Falsterbo-veteran - William Funnell with Dorada by Harlequin du Carel. Funnel has won Falsterbo Derby three times, and his last time was two years ago riding Kanelle de la Baile.
