At the end of the first dressage day Grand Prix Uthopia is leading (77,720%) while Mistral Hojris has the runner up spot (76,839%) after a solid performance and convincing test where unfortunately the extended canter led to mistakes in the change at the end.
A very solid convincing performance was also shown by the number three in the provisional result German Dorothee Schneider presenting her big black mare Diva Royal with flair. "She did a super job!", first time Olympian Dorothee praised her big mare, while the German team coach expressed this as a very well done test right at the point (76,277%). No single mistake occurred!
Danish Anna Kasprzak presented the former German team horse of Kentucky Donnperignon very well to its favour and scored a well deserved 73,343%, while pathfinder Anne van Olst for Denmark already had putted 71,322% in the Danish basket. The Danish find themselves now in silver position while Great-Britain as expected leads the board with Hester and Bechtolsheimer.
The two fold Olympic gold medallist pair Anky van Grunsven and Salinero did a harmonious test rewarded with fifth place (73,343%) on the provisional board.
Canadian David Marcus had all bad luck of the world getting his horse not over the television camera in the corner. He continued being disobedient and spooked and spooked. In the end he was eliminated. Marcus sadly commented: "The crowd was moving in their seats because of the rain and it all went wrong. My horse Capital normally doesn't do anything like this so it was totally out of character. I am desperately disappointed."
