Den Ham Blue R Four-Year-Old Champion

In the VION Cup semi-final for four-year-old jumpers, judges Henk van den Broek and Eric van der Vleuten awarded the same number of points to the KWPN-approved stallion Durrant (Warrant x Voltaire) with Sander Naber; the bay gelding Hemmelhorst Dakota (Calvaro Z x Heartbreaker, breeder: J.G. Boomkamp of Borne) with Bjorn Egberink; and the gray stallion Darthus (Mr.Blue x Calvin Z, breeder: H.P. Aarts of Asten) with Mirjan Horoyn. In the final, the judging panel included Willem Greve and German jumper rider Mario Stevens, who gave the most points to the KWPN-approved stallion Den Ham Blue R (Mr. Blue x Calando I). The bay, bred by Stal Roelofs of Den Ham, received an 8.7 in the final for jumping and an 8.5 for way of going between the jumps. These scores and those from the semi-final (8.0 / 7.7) earned him the Champion title. Second place in the final standings was for VDL Groep Spiritivo (Indoctro x Corrado I) with Niclas Parmler. Bred by Stoeterij Duysel’s Hof of Hoogeloon, the chestnut stallion scored an 8.2 (jumping) and an 8.7 (way of going between jumps) in the final. Third place was for the approved stallion Durrant (s.Warrant, breeder: P. Keunen of Venlo) with Sander Naber, the winning duo of the semi-final. In the final, Durrant earned an 8.3 (jumping) and a 7.8 (way of going between jumps).
