On Thursday morning, the Indoctro son Coco (ds.Concorde), ridden by Arnold Boerenkamps, claimed the final class of the VION Cup for five-year-olds. In the final standings, the bay jumper, bred by M. van Schijndel of Heeswijk Dinther, finished fourth. The VION Cup winner and number one horse in the final standings was Chuck (Berlin x Jasper), with Anne Martine van Liere in the irons. The gray gelding, who was born on the property of G. Kleinheerenbrink in Schuinesloot, collected a total of 21 points over three rounds. In the final class, he ended in second place.
Although Marcel Willems also accumulated 21 points with the five-year-old mare Calimera (Van Gogh x Perion), the outcome of the final determined the overall winner. As a result, the horse bred by M. Leijser of Budel and P. Leijser of Someren finished second. Third place was for Marcel Willems on his other mount: Chillipeper (Quasimodo Z x No Limit). The bay gelding, bred by Stal Bessemeind BV of Gilze, acquired 22 points. In the final, the selected Mr.Blue son Cobalt Blue R (ds. Mermus R, breeder: Stal Roelofs in Den Ham) jumped to third place under Tom Brinkman and ended 11th in the final standings.
