KWPN Horse Days: Stallion Selection

The Stallion Selection Committee for jumpers advanced three four-year-old stallions and three five-year-old stallions to the third round viewing. All had competed in the VION Cup for purposes of the stallion selection, allowing the Committee to evaluate the stallions against their age group peers. Prior to competing over the first course earlier this week, the stallions were evaluated for conformation on hard ground.

Yesterday afternoon, Arie Hamoen, Chairman of the Stallion Selection Committee, announced that all six stallions have been invited to the fall performance test. The four-year-olds will undergo a 50-day test, while the five-year-olds will take a 21-day test. On October 5, the five-year-olds will be received in Stegeren so that they can be tested concurrently with the other horses already at the center. The four-year-olds will be received on September 6.
