Lynch & Night Train speed to victory in the Derby

Denis Lynch and Night Train took an express route around the derby track in Valkenswaard to win the class.Twelve riders competed in the derby class that featured banks and a dyke along with regular fences, and only two of them managed to produce clear rounds.

The first came from Gregory Wahtelet and Banda de Hus (Argentinus x Lefevre) – who caused a minor breathtaking moments when Banda decided to jump straight off the first bank, but all worked out well and they crossed the finish line on the time of 102.88. Two riders later Denis Lynch took over the lead on his La Baule Derby-winner Night Train (Calvaro x Papillon Rouge), who seems to like these classes. Their time was good at 101.82, and they went into the lead – that lasted throughout the class.

Emanuele Gaudiano ended third on Chicago 84 (Chambertin x Quinar), with one fence down and the time 99.75.
