A satisfactory 85% of the foals sold to new owners at the 2012 Danish Warmblood Elite Foal Auction held on 8 September at the annual Elite Show at Vilhelmsborg. The average price for a foal was 57,500 Danish kroner (7,718 euro).
Atterupgaards Jazzper by Jazz x Stedinger became the top selling foal and sold for 160,000 DKK (21,472 euro) to a trio of buyers: Kirk, Krabbe and Skjaerbaek. The bay colt is out of silver medal mare Atterupgaards Minelli, who is a full sister to the gold medal mare Atterupgaards Minaia and to licensed stallion Atterupgaards Sastre.
The second most expensive foal was Møllegårdens Al Capone by Astrix x Zardin Firfod, bred by Lone Christiansen from Ribe, Denmark. A Norwegian dressage rider paid 135,000 DKK for it (18,117 euro). The third most expensive foal was a filly by Blue Hors Romanov x De Niro. The dam of this filly is the full sister to licensed stallion Dancier. Blue Hors acquired the foal for 100,000 DKK (13,420 euro).
