The international show jumping event was held last weekend in the former East Prussian town Chernyakhovskon the arena of the horse stud Georgenburg, where Hannoverian and Trakehner horses are bred.
One of the main classes of the event - the 1,55 m Chernyakovsk Cup - was won in a brilliant and very fast manner by Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano with the Holsteiner gelding Chicago (Chambertin x Quinar). The pair was the only clear in the jump-off, while Belgium's Jerome Guery with SBS stallion Tic Tac du Seigneur (Clinton x Darco) had a rail down and Russian rider Vladimir Beletskiy with the Westfalian gelding Littlefoot (Lord Caletto x Pierot II) finished with 8 penalties.
The last class on Sunday - The President of Russia Cup - was the qualification Grand Prix for European Championship 2013. The course designed by Stefan Wirth was cleared by five riders out of 40. For most riders the main problem occurred at the triple combination. In a jump-off three riders went faultless, but the fastest was German Franke Sloothaak with the Westfalian stallion Lascar (Lupicor x Ramiro's Son) in 42,88 seconds. Estonian Rein Pill with the Finnish stallion Konstantinos KS (Konigin's Son KS x Colombo) finished second in 43,49 seconds, while Dutch Piet Raijmakers Jr with the KWPN gelding Van Schijndel's Valentino (Cavalier x Tangelo) came third in 44,64 seconds.
