Busy day at the World Championship for Young Horses

It has been a busy day at Zangersheide Stud in Lanaken were the World Championship for Young Horses is taking place. The riders have been competing at three different arenas, the five year olds in the Almé Z arena, the six year olds in the Ramiro Z arena and the seven year olds in the Ratina Z arena. The warm-up class for the stallions that will compete in the FEI Sires of the World-competition also took place in the Ratina Z arena.

Among the five year olds no less than 78 horses were ranked as number one after clear rounds.

Among the six year olds Gábor Szabó with the HSH mare Timpex Centes (Cento x Hargita) was in top ahead of Dayro Arroyave with the SBS mare Auburn des Rosiers (Kaschmir van het Schuttershof x Baloubet du Rouet) and Dominique Hendrickx with the stallion For Fox Heldenlaan Z (For Pleasure x Pinkus).

When it came to the seven year olds, the Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet with the BWP gelding Sea Coast Forlap Dc (Querlybet Hero x Heartbreaker) was the fastest clear rounder. Second placed Ömer Karaevli with the Frenc mare Rabane de Sury (Damiro B x Oberon du Moulin) was four seconds slower. Third place went to Florian Meyer zu Hartum with the Oldenburger mare Chacciana (Chacco-Blue x Andiamo Z).

The warm up class for the prestigious Sires of the World was won by Brecht Bille with last years winner Hunter's Scendix (Stakkato x Dinar), that this season has been seen under Eric Lamaze. Second was Dirk Demeersman with Cicero Z van Paemel (Carthago Z x Randel Z) and Dayro Arroyave with Eldorado van het Vijverhof (Thunder Van de Zuuthoeve x Omar).
