Ben Maher’s horses arrive safe in Rio de Janeiro

Oct 3, 2012

After an unexpected 23 hour stopover in Dakar, Ben Maher’s horses Tripple X and Aristo Z finally arrived in Rio de Janeiro yesterday. The plane taking the horses to Rio developed problems, and had to wait for parts from Frankfurt. As the horses didn’t have the necessary papers in order, they could not get off the plane in Dakar – causing some serious headache for Ben, who tweeted about the unfortunate series of events. In the end the plane could leave Dakar, and Tripple X and Aristo Z arrived safe and sound in Brazil. Ben took to Twitter to thank Athina and Doda de Miranda – the organizers behind the event in Rio – and their team for their help.

That wasn’t to be all though, as Ben tweeted this morning about his own flight: “Delayed flight from Heathrow, apparently the crew are lost! I hope we make our connection to Madrid”.
