Farrington wins the World Cup qualifier at Pennsylvania

Yesterday's World Cup qualifier for the North American East Coast League at Pennsylvania National Horse Show was won by Kent Farrington and Uceko after two clear rounds. 9 out of 31 riders made it on to the jump-off in a class that had several European riders as well as Americans.

Farrington and Uceko had the fastest time in the jump-off at 37,95, while only nineteen year old Katie Dinan secured second place riding Nougat du Vallet. Dinan crossed the finish line on a clean sheet at 39,48 seconds. Farrington and Dinan were followed by two Europeans based in America, Shane Sweetnam from Ireland and British rider Tim Gredley riding respectively Amaretto D’Arco and Unex Omelli. Margie Engle was number five with Indigo and the last of the top five riders who where double clear.

Olympic team members Beezie Madden and Reed Kessler both went on the the jump-off as well, but then had to see four faults each, while both McLain Ward and Olivier Philippaerts had two down. The next qualifier in the North American East Coast League takes place next weekend at the Washington International Horse Show.
