The first four star competition at Pappas Amadeus Indoors in Salzburg went to Shane Breen. The Irish rider won the opening 1.45 class aboard the Kannan-son Ominerale Courcelle. The class had 53 riders lined up and 14 of these remained without faults - but Shane was the fastest of them all at 53,46 seconds. Francois jr. Mathy from Belgium gave him some serious competition though, with a time of 53.68 seconds on Polinska des Isles he ended as as runner-up. Italias rider Roberto Arioldi and Viper ended third, slightly behind Breen and Mathy.
