It was a perfect win for Sergio Alvarez Moya and Carlo 273 (Contender x Cascavelle) in the Grand Prix Telefónica in La Coruna yesterday. The win was the pair’s first – and has been knocking on the door for a while after fantastic results, came on home soil and after the two produced the only double clear in the class. It couldn’t get better for the sympathetic Spanish rider! Runner-up was in-form Michel Robert – who picked up yet another ribbon for the weekend, this time riding Oh D’Eole (Kannan x Papillon Rouge). The pair had only one time fault in the first round. Third place went to Steve Guerdat on Sidney VIII (Carry x Quidam de Revel), who had four faults in the first round and was clear in the second.
The Trofeo La Caixa – a 1.45 class – went to Pius Schwizer on Graciella (Graf Top x Accord II). With a time of 52.84, the Swiss rider was way ahead of number two Pedro Veniss aboard Norlam des Etisses (Quidam de Revel x Uriel) at 54.21 seconds. Michel Robert was in the money again as number three, this time on Nenuphar’Jac (Cumano x Pidayack).
