Ahlmann on top in "Prijs Zangersheide"

Christian Ahlmann and Asca Z took home the win in Saturday's 1,45 classthat was just open for stallions. The class counted 32 combinations and as many as 16 made it through to the jump-off where there were another ten clears.

First out was Donaat Brondeel with Breemeersen Adorado (Acorado x Gluecksgriff). Donaat was close on falling off in the turn after the combination, but managed to stay on and had a clear jump-off in 39,45 seconds. Next one out was the rider that was most happy to clear the first round - Karline de Brabander with Taran de la Pomme (Tolano van't Riethof x Chin Chin). Karline also had a clear jump-off, but kept it safe and ended in tenth place.

Benny Naessens and Cluysenaer P&I (Calido x Heartbreaker) got eight faults towards the end of the course, and then there was time for Christian Ahlmann. When Christian wants to win he does his very best to actually do so. As Christian and Asca Z crossed the finishline their time was nearly four seconds faster than Donaat.

Rik Hemeryck with Erco van't Roosakker (Darco x Kannan) got four faults before there was time for several clear rounds. Fabienne Daigneux with Bamiro (Heartbreaker x Ramiro), Juan Carlos Garcia with Blue Boy van Berckenbroek (Poor Boy x Latano), Jerome Guery with Popstar Lozonais (by Quick Star), and Charlotte von Rönne with Cartani (Carthago x Landgraf I) were all clear, but no one managed to take Christian's time.

Both Max Kühner with Coeur de Lion (Coriano x Cassini) and Olivier Philippaerts with Cooper vd Heffinck (Caretino x Landlord) had eight faults. But also Dayro Arroyave and Eldorado vh Vijverhof (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Omar) were clear going into third place while Joe Clee and Utamaro d'Ecaussines (Diamant de Semilly x Quidam de Revel) secured fourth place after a nice round.

Hans-Dieter Dreher chose to not ride the jump-off with Magnus Romeo so next to go was Judy-Ann Melchior with the fantastic Levisto Z (Leandro x Carolus). It started off very well, but their round ended in the short turn after the combination as Judy Ann went on one side of a fence and Levisto Z on the other. No one got hurt and the two left the course together. Last to go was Ludo Philippaerts who rode a safe but clear round aboard Zilverstar T (Berlin x Cavalier) placing them as number nine.
