The two champions of the South-German Licensing descend from Stockholm and Landprinz. The title in dressage went to catalog number 35 (Stockholm x Harvard) and catalog number 72 (Landprinz x Cassini I) was named champion of the jumping colts. In the auction the two champions didn’t make the best price: Catalog number 9 (Boston x Abanos) – not even a premium-stallion – was the most expensive colt. He sold for 200.000 euros to German dressagerider Anja Plönzke.
The Boston offspring was sought after in Munich. Not only Number 9 sold for more then 100.000 euros, also catalog number 5 (Boston x Donnerhall) exceeded the 100.000 euro-limit. Number 5, who was named Reserve Champion, sold for 125.000 euros to German Rider Uwe Schwanz. The KWPN-stallion Boston, who died unexpectedly last year, made a great entrance as a breeding stallion. The Jazz-son, who was ridden by Isabell Werth, got four sons licensed.
Boston was not the only KWPN-stallion that influenced the South German Licensing. There was one son of Ampere licensed, one of Vivaldi and two of Blue Hors Zack. The Ampere-colt and one of the Zack-colts made it into the premium lot: Catalog number 1 (Ampere x Donnerhall) sold for 150.000 euro to Reitsportzentrum Massener Heide and catalog number 38 (Zack x Sunny Boy) was sold for 65.000 euros.
Two more colts exceeded the price of 100.000 euros: catalog number 34 (Soliman de Hus x Wesley) and the jumper-champion number 72, sold respectively for 100.000 and 135.000 euros. The jumping champion was the best paid for jumping colt and bought by jumping rider Heiko Schmidt. Click here to see the jumping champion.
The dressage champion by far didn’t make the best price. He was sold for 60.000 euros to the Moritzburg State Stud.
In average the licensed stallions were sold for almost 58.600 euros, while the not-licensed stallions made an average of 19.000 euros. Six dressage- and five jumping colts made it into the premium lot.
