Going into the final, Desperado held the lead in the L-class of the GMB Stallion Competition, with four points more than the other black Vivaldi son Dream Boy. In the final this evening, Desperado, ridden by Emmelie Scholtens, scored the most points again. Judging chairman Arie Hamoen: “In any case, we enjoyed these stallions, and we're happy that they serve our breeding program.” Dreamboy earned a 9 for his light-footed trot under Gerdine Maree for a total of 86.5 points, maintaining his second place position from the interim standing. Desperado was unbeatable again this evening: for his big, pure walk, he earned a 9.5; for his other scores, he received 9's. “This stallion has particularly remarkable elasticity,” said Hamoen. Desperado claimed victory with 91 points. Third place was for Don Tango B with Diederik van Silfhout.
