British rider Ben Maher won his second grand prix in a row at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival
After winning last week’s $100,000 Fidelity Investments® CSI 2* Grand Prix riding Cella, Maher takes victory this week in the $82,000 Adequan® Grand Prix with over 4,000 spectators cheering on.
Forty-seven athletes entered the class, only fourteen classified for the jump-off. Ben Maher and 12-year-old gelding Urico had a speedy clear round with a time of 43.81 seconds to grab the lead. American rider Brianne Goutal and Uata went next and had a time of 45.05 seconds to finish third. Last to go, Irish athlete Shane Sweetnam and Siri concluded the class with a quick round of 44.99 seconds taking second place.
