Harrie Smolders in winning mood in Hulsterlo

Dutch show-jumper Harrie Smolders was in the winning mood this weekend at the Winter Equestrian Nights in Hulsterlo, Belgium. On Saturday evening he took Regina Z (s. Rex Z) to first place in the 1.50 m Grand Prix. On Sunday, Harrie Smolders won the Pavo Stallion Competition for seven year olds, riding Okidoki van ’T Gelutt (Omar x Lux).

In the Grand Prix, Smolders and Regina cleared the jump-off in 36.85 seconds. Belgian rider Maurice Van Roosbroeck and his mount Calumet (s. Joyeux Ardent), stayed clear in the jump-off as well. He and Smolders were the only two clears out off 15 jump-off-rides. Wouter Devos was fastest (36.70 seconds) riding Tonik Hero (s. Ogano Sitte), but had a pole down and came third.

Stallion Competition
Harrie Smolders and seven year old Okidoki van ’T Gelutt had the only clear round in the jump-off of the stallion competition in Okidoki’s age group. Donaat Brondeel took the second place riding Breemeersen Crescendo. The pair had four penalty points.

In the competition for six year old jumping horses, all eight pairs in the the jump-off were clear. Brecht Bille and Hunters Scendro won, followed by Frederic Vernaet with Tonixe and Ben Schuurmans with Horion de Libersart.
