Gert-Jan Bruggink took home the 1,50 class in Dortmund on Saturday night. After an incredible jump-off, it was the super fast Dutch rider and the equally quick mare Andrea (Marome x Voltaire) that went to the top. 16 riders out of the 51 that participated made it to the jump-off, where Carsten-Otto Nagel chose not to ride Corradina so there were 15 riders that offered the crowds an unbelievable jump-off!
For a while it looked like Katharina Offel would make it a double for the day, when she did a fast and clear jump-off on Charlie (Cornet Obolensky x Potsdam). But then Marco Kutscher with Cash (Carthago x Lavall II) entered the ring and took over the lead after two almost impossible short turns. With his jump-off Marco made it looked like he had secured the win, but that was until Marcus Ehning and Copin van de Broy (Darco x Brownboy) started their round. Marcus did one of his typical jump-offs - he was fast, smooth and left some strides out between the fences - and took over the lead.
For the second time this evening the audience was sure it would be the winning round. Gert-Jan Bruggink and Andrea wanted it differently though and the small chestnut mare did what she does best - being fast and jumping high and after an unforgettable jump-off Gert-Jan secured the win. Several riders after Bruggink tried to catch him on the time. Only one managed to; Mario Stevens with Little Pezi (Lord Pezi x Aldatus), but one fence fell after a really short turn.
