They all tried, but no one could match the efforts made by Janika Sprunger in the Indoor Derby in Den Bosch Saturday evening. The amazing Swiss rider left the breaks by the entrance – or maybe even further out in the Brabant Halle – that’s how fast she was on the super bouncy JL's Komparse (Kolibri x Kronenkranich). Janika rode without fear around the thirteen fence track, which as usually included a wall leading out to the passage to the warm-up where the riders all had a race to jump to verticals and then back down the corridor and over the wall again.
Janika solved the task the best in this very entertaining class; riding like she was a jockey rather than a showjumper down the corridor, making perfect turns everywhere – and at the same time giving her beautiful white partner all the possibilities to clear the fences by setting him up beautifully. She stopped the clock at 78.03 seconds. Closest came home rider Jur Vrieling who earlier in the class made the crowds shifting to the edge of their seats as he raced around the track on Labors Wonderboy (Indoctro x Burggraaf) ending on the time of 79.37. Third place went to another Dutch rider Piet Raijmakers Jr aboard Van Schijndel's Chanelly (Contender x Bachus), with the time 79.67 seconds.
