HSI Stallion inspection results 2013

A total of 48 applicants were put through their paces at the 2013 Irish Sport Horse and Irish Draught Horse stallion inspections this week. The inspections took place in Cavan Equestrian Centre on Tuesday 12th March and Wednesday 13th March.

The Irish Sport Horse stallion inspections commenced on Tuesday and resulted in the Approval of two Thoroughbred stallions and one pony. In addition, 5 sport horse stallions met the Stage 1 inspection requirements and 5 stallions were Approved following linear profiling having already met the performance requirements for Approval in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook.

On Wednesday morning the Stage 2 Irish Sport Horse stallion inspections got underway for stallions that had previously met the Stage 1 inspection requirements. These stallions were seen jumping under saddle by their own rider and by the HSI test rider Mr. Vincent Voorn. Four sport horse stallions met the Stage 2 inspection requirements are now classified as ‘Preliminary Approved’ in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook.

Irish Draught stallions were also inspected throughout Wednesday and six Irish Draught stallions were awarded Class 1 status within the Irish Draught Horse studbook.
