Olympic hopes for Big Star

Jan 26, 2016

At the Winter Equestrian Festival, in the extremely comfortable circumstances of the Winter Equestrian Festival, Big Star is getting prepared for a return at the highest level.

Nick Skelton's Olympic mount sustained a severe injury, but was brought back to the international limelicht last Octobre in Vilamoura, Portugal. The son of Quick Star started at 1.30 m level. In the mean time, the rails have gone up to 1.40 and 1.45 in Wellington. So far Big Star hasn't managed to jump a clear round at the WEF, but the powerful stallion is looking good. Skelton still has high hopes for Big Star to even return to Olympic level, next summer in Rio de Janeiro.
