Record number of stallions in performance test

The number of stallions participating at the KWPN performance test in Ermelo is unprecedented: including eight Harness stallions that arrived last week, the total is now 53.

The first day of the test started off early with the presentation under the saddle of the four-year-old jumper stallion Hotspot (s.Hors La Loi II), that was appointed in 2015 and will arrive April 5th for the 50-day test. Hereafter, the three-year-old jumper stallions were presented in pairs to the committee. One stallion was offered for the voluntary performance test. Every jumper stallion was found trainable and was able to be presented to veterinarians Astrid Bos and Krijn van Muiswinkel for the clinical examination. Cat.no. 27/220 (Kannan x Emilion) has a skin infection and was therefore taken home again by the owner. Following the regulations, he can be offered again next week.

The stallion selection committee dressage was shown seventeen dressage stallions. In consultation with the owners, two of the stallions are referred to the autumn test: cat. No. 43 (Bon Bravour x Jazz) and 51 (Hofrat x Zhivago). One of the stallions was agreed to a later entry next week: cat.no.57 (Winningmood x Oscar). Amongst the dressage stallions a four-year-old stallion arrived as well: the in 2015 appointed Hilltop (Chagall D&R x Tuschinski). He is also expected on April 5th for his 50-day-test. Hence, thirteen dressage stallions moved into their stables in Ermelo.

Last February, three Gelder Stallions were selected for the performance test, yet only the Wynton-son Izaak starts his test this spring, the other two stallions may be presented this autumn or next spring.
