For Pleasure, the comeback-kid, wins 2019!

For Pleasure did it again. In the past year, his big competitor Chacco-Blue took the lead in the world ranking of top progenitors for quite some time, but in the last month of the year the son of Furioso II, who died in 2011 at the age of 25, regained the lead. And wins the whole year 2019.

With an IPV of 659.57, the 120 offspring of For Pleasure did on average slightly better than the 505 (!) children of Chacco-Blue (656.79). The best performing offspring of For Pleasure were Fit For Fun and For Joy van't Zorgvliet. Explosion W and Chacco Kid achieved the best results for Chacco-Blue. Also of influence were the grandchildren, the international jumpers from mothers of the aforementioned top progenitors. Killer Queen VDM (by Eldorado vd Zeshoek) collected important points for For Pleasure by winning the Grand Prix of Mechelen with Daniel Deusser at the end of the old year.

Berlin
The final score in Class B (a minimum of 80 descendants of a maximum of 15 years) is ruled by the blood of Cassini I. His son Berlin already has 245 successful children in international sport, who put their father in first place.
A strong second (because also winner of Class C) is Verdi TN, who is not even at the end of his own sports career. Then the Cassini grandsons Cicero van Paemel and Mylord Carthago (both by Carthago) follow. KWPN stallion show champion Ustinov, son of the unforgettable Libero H, finishes in a nice fifth place.
Verdi TN therefore wins the classification in Class C (a minimum of 60 descendants of a maximum of 13 years), followed by Mylord Carthago, Canturano I, Emerald and Clarimo.

Again: Cassini I
The Cassini blood also has a winner in Carambole, who maintained his comfortable leading position in Class B (minimum 40 offspring of maximum 11 years) throughout 2019. Stakkatol and Cooper van de Heffinck complete the podium here.
In the youngest offspring group Class A (minimum 20 offspring of maximum 9 years) Colestus triumphs. A couple of months ago, the top son of Cornet Obolensky had to relinquish the leadership to Bustique (whose son Beauville Z won the top-class in La Coruna), but in the end the 27 offspring of Colestus finished the job for the whole of 2019. In this youngest group there was a nice third place for Aganix du Seigneur.

Dressage
There is a large genetic variety in the dressage direction. Many stallions only deliver one or very few top horses. That makes it more difficult to establish a ranking. In Class A, Rubin Royal has dropped out because he has missed the limit of at least 15 offspring (12). For the same reason, United (13 offspring), Danone I (10) and Damon Hill (13) do not appear in the list.

The world ranking for 2019 is led by Don Romantic, who already has a handful of Grand Prix horses to his name. Romanov closed the year in second place, followed by Jazz, Stedinger, Johnson, De Niro, Rousseau, Don Schufro, Don Frederico and Sandro Hit.

Quaterback
Quaterback scores highest in Class B (at least ten descendants of maximally 12 years). On second spot, Lord Leatherdale benefits from top sons such as Everdale and Glamourdale. The third place is for Spielberg.

Year change
One thing is for sure: everything will be different tomorrow! All horses become one year older at January 1st, this will have great impact on the 2020 IPV world rankings.
