The Holsteiner Verband has newly approved the stallion BALOU STAR OLD by Balou du Rouet x Quick Star, bred by Hans-Otto Nos, Ortenberg, who has been highly successful in international show jumping up to the 1.60m class, for their trial-breeding program.
After having sired more than 200 offspring in France and several licensed sons and numerous premium and auction foals throughout Europe, Balou Star now is approved for the Holstein breeding trial and is initially limited to 20 mares.
BALOU STAR's offspring are increasingly convincing in international competition sport, for example the only 7-year-old mare LADY-LOU OLD. Already at the age of six, she won the championship of Rastede under her rider Hartwig Rohde in an impressive way. At the beginning of this year, the pair sovereignly took 4th place at the 1.40m Youngster Tour in Verden.
BALOU STAR is at stud at Equitechnic in France/Normandy. Shipping semen incl. "sexed semen" and frozen straws are provided by the stud center Olland.biz, Joan van Gorkum, as well as by Equitechnic, Mark Spalart, and selected contract veterinarians throughout Europe.
Orders for semen can be placed either online at www.baloustar.com/en/balou-star/semen-ordering/ or directly with the stud centers / vet clinics.
The now 15-year-old stallion, who is also the 2017 European YR Team Champion, will continue to be presented in international show jumping competitions by the French B squad and Global Champions Tour rider, Mégane Moissonnier.
